Alta Marie Minor's Obituary
Married 59 years, separated by death 8 years. MINOR, ALTA MARIE TACKETT 92, went to Heaven to rejoin the love of her life,George Westford Minor, deceased at 90, July 2, 2005. Marie, raised in Mexia. George, raised in Frisco, TX. lived and reared their children in Dallas attending Pleasant Grove Church of Christ. Marie a lifelong homemaker and caretaker for their elderly parents, George began his career with the telephone company where in World War II he helped install the first phone lines in Iwo Jima. Retired after 40 years from Bell System services they enjoyed living at Cedar Creek Lake and later Rockwall, TX at Summer Ridge Retirement. Survived by daughter, Cherie and husband, Michael McRae, Dallas; sons, George and wife, Terri Minor, Richardson, Leslie and wife, Belinda Minor, Frankfort, KY; 6 grandchildren; 8 great-grandchildren; nieces, nephews, caregivers, friends and neighbors. Everyone that met George and Marie thought they were the nicest, sweetest people they ever met. EARTH’S ANGELS will be missed by everyone that came across them. Their ashes will be joined in a Graveside Service at 11:00 AM, Saturday, September 28, 2013 at Restland Funeral Home, 13005 Greenville Ave, Dallas, TX, Garden of Compassion. In lieu of flowers donations are welcome in their name to Alzheimer’s Association or Osteoporosis Foundation.
