Alta Phyllis Wilson's Obituary
Alta Phyllis Wilson, born October 20, 1921, in Yale, Oklahoma, passed away December 7 at age 98. She graduated from Woodrow Wilson High School in 1938, and attended UNT. A woman of strength and determination, after a career with several companies as an accountant, she returned to UNT to complete her Bachelor of Arts degree in education. She earned a Master of Science degree from Texas Women’s University, and for decades thereafter taught at South Oak Cliff High School and Roosevelt High School. Her sense of humor endeared her to her students. After retirement she worked for Lord and Taylor before returning to substitute teaching at several area high schools until the age of 89. Phyllis was preceded in death by her husband of almost 40 years, Dallas businessman Malcolm Wilson, and by her son Randolph Wilson. She is survived by her daughter Roxanne Wilson Sims and husband Tom, and her sister Carolyn Decker Spillers, and several nieces and nephews. Phyllis was a career professional all her life. Rest In peace dear oneA Graveside Service for Phyllis Wilson will be held on Friday, December 13, 2019 at 12:00 pm in Restland Cemetery. The family will receive guests one hour prior to the service from 11:00 am – 12:00 pm.
