Alvina Marie Ayers' Obituary
Alvina Marie Eason Ayers passed away on January 12, 2016, at the age of 93. Alvina was born on March 8, 1922, in Farmers Branch, Texas. She was the oldest of three children of Homer Daniel Eason of Jacksboro, Texas and Edna Marie Early Eason of Cottondale, Texas. Alvina married the love of her life, Oliver Charlton Ayers on May 15, 1942. Alvina enjoyed many things in life. Her greatest enjoyment came from her four children, nine grandchildren, and nine great grandchildren. Alvina and Charlton would take their family on many memorable vacations, traveling all across the United States. The kids were left with many fond memories and stories to tell their children. Alvina was an exceptional square dancer. She and Charlton would usually dance almost every weekend and would take square dancing trips all over the country. Other things that Alvina loved doing were gardening and cooking for her family. Everyone looked forward to the holiday feasts and Sunday lunches. Family gatherings were always something that she looked forward to and so did everyone else. Alvina had one of the most pleasant personalities that one could imagine. She always put others first. This can be seen in her four children who display some of the same traits. Alvina and Charlton were instrumental in the beginning of Park Cities Baptist Church. They both were there at the beginning when the church resided at Lovers Lane. They enjoyed their time at the church and many friendships they developed while there. Besides being a full time mother, Alvina worked as a secretary for her husband and his father at O. P. Ayers & Son. Alvina was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Oliver Charlton Ayers, sister, Mary Ann Purdy, daughters Elizabeth Banks and Olivia Clark, grandchildren Wayne Banks and Tommy Clark. She is survived by her brother Dan Eason of Lewisville, Texas, daughter Barbara McLaurin and husband Hilton of Lubbock, Texas, son David Ayers and wife Jenny of Farmington, New Mexico, Son-In-Laws; Robert Banks and Thomas Clark, seven grandchildren: Laura Banks, Brookanne Clark, Jeffrey Clark, Patrick McLaurin, Sarah Busby, Camila Ayers, and Oliver Ayers, and nine great grandchildren A celebration of Alvina’s life will take place at Restland Funeral Cemetery located at 13005 Greenville Avenue, Dallas, Texas 75243. Telephone: (469) 708-2919 Viewing will be held at 2:00 PM, and the Funeral Service will begin at 3:00 PM on Friday, January 15, 2016, at the Restland Cemetery Wildwood Chapel. Graveside immediately following the memorial service.
