Amelia Putnam Kincaid's Obituary
Amelia Putnam Kincaid died peacefully in her sleep on March 4th at the age of 82, with her husband of 59 years, Allen Kincaid, by her side. She was born on April 27, 1936 in Bakersville, NC.After their marriage, Allen & Amelia first lived in Chattanooga, TN. Over the years, there were several moves to other cities because of his career, and they lived in Dallas for 17 years. After Allen’s retirement, they moved to Southport, NC where they built their dream retirement home. They moved back to Dallas 4 years ago, so they could be near family who could help with their care.For most of her married life, Amelia was a homemaker, but she loved the years when she worked at Jo’s Hallmark shop in Dallas.Amelia was devoted and loving in her roles of wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, and friend. She never met a stranger, and her huge smile and charming personality could immediately light up a room.In addition to her husband, survivors include daughter Tammy Lindgren & her husband Gary, of Aurora, CO; son Ted Kincaid & his husband Steve Atkinson, of Dallas; grandchildren Cara Wills & her husband Nate, Keith Lindgren & his wife Heather, and Carly Normand & her husband Nathan; great-grandchildren Addison and Eli Wills and Ames Normand; sisters Wilma Wilson, and Carol Morgan. Amelia was preceded in death by her parents Samuel B. & Nola Mae Putnam, and sisters Hattie Davis & Georgia Shelton.A memorial service will be held at 10:00 AM on Friday, March 8th in the Wildwood Chapel at Restland Memorial Park, 13005 Greenville Avenue in Dallas.
