Amy Jo Appleby's Obituary
Amy Jo Appleby was born June 14, 1950 in Dallas, Texas and passed away peacefully on February 21, 2019 at the age of 68. She was living at North Pointe Nursing Home in Watauga, Texas when she passed.Amy Jo was a special needs child and she attended The Children’s Development Center in Dallas, Texas until she was 18 years old. She lived at home with her parents most of her life in Irving, Texas. In 2000, when her mother moved to assisted living, Amy moved to Rindie House, a MHMR community-based residence. She lived there 12 years where she made many friends, learned to bowl, went to a daily workshop and enjoyed group outings with her housemates.Amy enjoyed spending time with family, celebrating holidays and attending Sunday school. She was a big tease and loved to joke around with people. Amy made us laugh with her funny expressions.Amy Jo was preceded in death by her father, Alton Appleby, mother Doris McKnight Appleby and brother, David B. Appleby. She is survived by her sister, Dianne Appleby Harris and husband, Tom of Keller, Texas; sister-in-law, Ginny Appleby of Lewisville, Texas; nephew, Adam Harris and wife Beth of Dallas, Texas; niece, Kelly Harris Rowe and husband Jason of Trophy Club, Texas; niece, Casey Harris Parker and husband Joseph of Victoria, Texas; great-nephews, Justin Rowe, Jared Rowe, Zach Kline, Noah Harris, Judah Parker and Josiah Harris; great-nieces, Adelyn Parker and Emma Harris; and cousins.Amy was loved and will be greatly missed by her family. She holds a special place in all of our hearts.Visitation will be held on February 22, 2019 at 11:00 AM at Restland Abbey Chapel. Service will follow at 12:00 PM.
