Amy Michelle Staton's Obituary
Amy was born on May 21, 1974 at Plano, Texas and passed away suddenly on May 14, 2021 at Baylor University Medical center in Dallas one week before her 47th birthday. Amy is survived by; husband, Rocky; three children, Andrew, Ashley and Adam; parents, Betty and Max Taylor; brother, Jeffrey Taylor; predeceased brother Steve Taylor, and many church and teacher friends.
She grew up in Richardson and graduated from JJ Pearce High School and attend North Texas State University earning Bachelor and Master degrees for a teaching career. Her career came to fruition primarily at Dallas and Mesquite Independent School Districts. Most of her teaching was at the Junior High School level as Amy loved working with students during that transitional stage of their lives.
Amy and Rocky were married at Spring Valley United Methodist Church on July 15, 2000. Spring Valley Methodist became their church home where their three children, Andrew, Ashley and Adam have grown up. Andrew is 16, Ashley is 14 and Adam is 12. Each of them attended SVUMC Preschool and were baptized, confirmed and served as acolytes at Spring Valley United Methodist Church. Amy enjoyed shopping, cheering for her kids at their sporting events and most of all, spending time with her family.
Funeral services for Amy are scheduled for Monday May 24 at 2:00 pm at Spring Valley United Methodist Church, and interment at Restland Cemetery will follow the service. We all rejoice in the knowledge that Amy is now in the eternal presence of her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ
