Anabel Soape Bruce's Obituary
BRUCE, ANABEL SOAPE Local wife, mother, grandmother, and friend, has joined her husband, Bob Bruce, in their heavenly reward for a life well spent. She was received to glory in her 90th year on Feb 12th, 2012. She is forever loved and remembered by neighbors and church family who knew her for a generous heart and friendly compassion. Family members commemorating her life include her son, Robert Alan Bruce of Plano, daughter Kathy Ann Waterbury of Lorena, sister Wilma Erb of Corpus Christi, and sister-in-law Marjorie Holland of Dallas. Eleven grandchildren and 1 great grandchild, along with numerous nieces and nephews will remember her lovingly. She grew up in the rural life of East Texas around Carthage in Panola County, eventually stepping into later careers as an office manager and as a reservationist for Braniff Airways. Later, she served with her husband in their family business at Applied Energy Company in Dallas, where they enjoyed church involvement and Aggie alumni events. Together, they built an enduring legacy with charitable endowments to the Methodist Church, the United Way, and Texas A&M. Interment will be at Restland on Thursday morning, Feb 16th at 10:30 am, immediately followed by a memorial service and reception at Lovers Lane United Methodist Church (Inwood @ NW Highway) at 12:00 noon. Thoughtful memorials can be given to Lovers Lane United Methodist Church Foundation or the Texas A&M Foundation.Born September 4, 1921 in Carthage, TX and passed away February 12, 2012 in Dallas, TX.
