Anastasia Stover's Obituary
Beloved wife, mother, grandmother and devoted friend, Anastasia Sops Stover, 76, passed into the Lord’s arms on Monday, March 29, 2010 in Dallas, TX from a stroke. Born of Greek immigrant parents, John Paul Sops of Ptolemaides, Greece and Georgia Chorovas of Filiatra, Greece on June 10, 1933 in Chattanooga, TN. After graduating from Chattanooga High in 1951, she attended business college and started her working career with Combustion Engineering and later as personal secretary to Olan Mills, Sr. – nationally know photographers. In 1961, she took a promotion by coming to Dallas as Mr. Mill’s executive assistant. In 1962, she met and in 1963 married Henry L. Stover with whom she celebrated their 47th anniversary on Feb. 24, 2010. After Mr. Mills retired, she was executive secretary to Congressman Jim Collins, regional director Robert Ely of Englehard Industries, and finished with Russell Associates. She then returned to school in her 50’s and studied English literature at Richland College where she was offered a full scholarship to Austin College in Sherman, TX. Her marriage created three wonderful and talented children: Ellen Goold, (Livermore, CA), her husband – Robert, children – Anastasia and Harrison; Paul (Dallas, TX), his wife – Jennifer, children – Emily and Lauren; Matt (Baltimore, MD), his wife – Debra, children – Jenna, Jacob, Joe. She is also survived by her beloved cousin, Ann Graven of Chicago, IL We especially want to thank Doctors Alan Brodsky, MD, Jerry Marlin, MD, Michael Rosenthal, MD and David Wiggans, MD without whose professionalism and humanity we would have lost Anastasia months ago. She will be remembered for her graciousness, accomplishments, efficiency and, most of all, the love she gave to her family, friends and church.
