Anastatia Louise Bridges' Obituary
Passed away on February 11th, 2007, at age 95. Louise became a Registered Nurse in 1933, training at All Saints Hospital in Ft Worth, and returned to All Saints as a hospice patient last Saturday. Dementia prevented her from knowing her many caregivers, but she always thanked them whenever she could. Louise was an Army nurse in 1941, when the west Texas girl met a handsome young army captain from Chicago, Rolland Bridges, on a blind date. They were married 58 years. Nursing was not the career Louise thought she wanted. She said she wanted to be a florist. The garden oasis she created in her suburban Dallas yard proved that Louise would have been a very good florist. Nursing, however, gave Louise a way to express her true character, even if flowers and gardening were her passion, because Louise was at her core a helper. She was always using her nurse’s training to help friends and family. Her last nursing job, at age 88, was helping her husband during his final days. Louise will be deeply missed by her sons, Ron Bridges and Jim Bridges, Jim’s wife Tonja Bridges, Ron’s friend Martha McNutt, her brothers Ted Carrigan and John Carrigan, sister in law Jane Carrigan, sister Tress Desmond, nieces Lynette McLain, Margie Carrigan,Colleen Carrigan, Kathleen Bragg, Anne Scott, Patti Donahue, Kelly Donahue, nephews Glen Carrigan, Glen’s wife Ivy, Donald Carrigan , Donald’s wife Connie, and grandchildren Ryan Bridges, Ashley Bridges, Jason Middlebrooks, and D.J. Middlebrooks. She will be especially missed by her good friend Vicki Chamlee.
