Ms. Ann Elizabeth Abshire's Obituary
Ann Elizabeth Abshire of Plano, TX passed away on May 31, 2020 after a long illness, at the age of 58. Ann was born in Indianapolis, IN in 1962 and her family soon moved to Orange, CA.
As a teenager, she worked at Disneyland dressed as various characters, including Snow White. Her love of everything Disney continued throughout her life; she made numerous trips to Disneyland and Disney World over her lifetime, and collected all types of Disney memorabilia.
After Ann’s family moved back to Texas, Ann attended J. J. Pearce High School in Richardson. She attended Baylor University in Waco, TX, graduating with a Bachelor of Business Administration. She worked for a time for Mark Thatcher in Dallas, and attended and photographed Margaret Thatcher’s State Visit to the Reagan White House.
Ann worked at Winzer Corporation in Plano for many years until 2019. During that time, Ann’s mother became ill and Ann took time off to care for her, returning to Winzer after her mother passed.
Ann was an ardent sports fan, a season ticket holder with Dallas professional sports teams and a lifelong supporter of her Baylor Bears. She was an accomplished photographer, a Zeta Tau Alpha sorority member, and a dog lover. Ann became involved with scrapbooking and eventually started her own scrapbooking business, where she was in high demand for her creative and professional products.
Ann is preceded in death by her parents William (Bill) and Eloise Abshire. She leaves behind numerous aunts, uncles, cousins and dear friends.
Services will be 3:00 pm Saturday, June 13, 2020 in Memorial Chapel at Restland Funeral Home. Burial to follow at Restland Cemetery under the direction of Restland Funeral Home. There will be a time of visitation one hour prior to the service.
