Ann Young Chastain of Rowlett, Texas was born in Dallas, Texas to Theodore (Ted) and Helen Young on January 2, 1952. She passed away peacefully on November 29, 2023 in Dallas, Texas.
Ann married Bill Chastain on November 25, 1977 in Dallas, Texas. They shared 46 wonderful years together.
Ann is preceded in death by her parents, Theodore (Ted) and Helen Young. She is survived by her husband, Bill Chastain; sister, Frances Gray (and spouse, Michael); nieces, Kelly Rose Carson (and spouse, Edward), and Tawana Young; cousins, Byron Killen, Ken Killen (and spouse, Ann), Alice Crockett, David Coldwell (and spouse, Barbara), Arnie Robertstad (and spouse, Judy), Drew Coldwell (and spouse, Eva), Charles Coldwell (and spouse, Ann), Chris Coldwell, and Sandy Kloberdanz.
Ann has been a member of Highland Park United Methodist Church of Dallas, Texas since 2001. She and Bill both worked as greeters for 5 years at the church. She loved reading, growing small cacti and other succulents, and growing other small houseplants. She will be dearly missed.
A visitation will be held from 6 – 8 PM on Wednesday, December 13 at Restland Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held at 3 PM on Thursday, December 14 with a reception immediately following.
Gifts may be made to the National Kidney Foundation in Ann’s name if one so wishes.
