Ann Venable Drake's Obituary
DRAKE, ANN VENABLE passed away in Dallas, TX on January 18, 2013 at the age of 84 years. She is survived by her dear brother, William H. “Bill” Venable of Ennis, TX, her two loving children, Robert Glenn Drake and his wife, Alice Toliver Drake of Paris, France, and Nancy Drake Thomas of Dallas, TX; her four grandchildren: Christopher Michael Thomas and his wife, Leslie Baker Thomas, Natalie Ann Milum and her husband, Christopher Matthew Milum, Benjamin Taylor Drake, and Zachary Hunter Drake and his wife, Erin Robin Drake, all of Dallas, TX; her great grandchildren; sister-in-law, Ellie Drake; nieces and nephews, Sharon and Ron McFarland, Sandra and Dee McIntosh, Mark and Susan Venable, Phil and Karen Hunke, Linda and Rick Linn, Ginger Drake, and Debbie Goss; and numerous great-nieces and nephews. Ann is preceded in death by her husband of 55 years, Wray Glenn Drake and her parents Irene Groves Venable and Hester Venable to whom she was born on July 1, 1928. Ann’s life was exemplified by generosity, loyalty and unselfish giving to all those whose lives she touched. Above all, Ann was a beautiful daughter, wife, grandmother, sister, friend and loving, caring and sharing mother and she will be remembered most affectionately for her dedication to her family, church and her prolific career of more than 50 years with Tupperware. In all the hearts she touched, her memory will live on forever. A viewing is scheduled for Monday, January 21, 2013 between 6:00-8:00 p.m. at Restland Funeral Home & Memorial Park at 13005 Greenville Ave., Dallas, TX 75243 (972-238-7111). A service is scheduled for Tuesday, January 22, 2013 at 2:00 p.m. at the First Christian Church of Plano at 813 E. 15th Street, Plano, TX 75074. Graveside services will be held at Restland with a reception immediately following.
