Ann Carol Helton's Obituary
Ann Carol Kinnan Helton, age 78, passed away peacefully at her home on Oct 28, 2018, in Edmond OK, after a hard fought battle with chronic kidney disease & diagnosed Parkinson’s disease since 2005. Ann was born in Odessa TX, and attended schools in Tulsa OK & Oklahoma City OK, before graduating from Northwest Classen HS in Oklahoma City. She also attended the University of Oklahoma in Norman before starting her family.Her survivors include sons J. R. (Rob) Helton Jr of Houston TX, Mark K Helton and wife, Dana, of Edmond OK, and Brad R Helton and wife, Terri, of Jenks OK. Her adored grandchildren who all referred to her as “Gram” or “Grammy” are: Emilee Helton, Daniel Helton, Matthew Helton & Bryce Helton. Pamela K Kinnan of Dallas is her surviving sister and many cousins survive her including her close cousin, Dr Thomas M Folks of San Antonio, his wife, Pam, and their son, Nathan.Ann resided in Richardson TX, from 1968 to 1978, while raising her three sons during their schooling years and also worked part-time at Geomap Company in Plano TX, as a cartographer. Ann resided in Tulsa OK, from 1978 to 1995, and in 1995, she moved to Federal Way WA, to assist with sales/finances of Art Collectors Gallery in Federal Way, a South Seattle suburb, from 1995-2000. In 2000, she moved to Edmond OK to be near family, where she worked part-time for Chesapeake Energy & the Edmond School District until her Parkinson’s diagnosis. Ann was active in the women’s group, P.E.O International, now known since 2008 as Philanthropic Educational Organization, the Junior League of Wichita Falls, and later, the Junior League of Dallas.Oklahoma City arrangements are being handled through Crawford Funeral Home, 610 NW 178th St, Edmond OK 73012 PH 405-340-2333, and a public viewing is scheduled for Wed, Oct 31 from 9 am to 5 pm. Dallas arrangements are being handled through Restland Funeral Home, 13005 Greenville Ave, Dallas TX 75243 PH 469-925-1436, and a public viewing is scheduled for Thurs, Nov 1 from 6-8pm, and a brief interment on Fri, Nov 2 at 1:00 pm.
