Ann Louise Laws' Obituary
passed away on February 6, 2008. She was born on August 22, 1920, in St. Elizabeth, Jamaica, W.I. to John Cornelius and Martha Eliza Parnell. She moved to the United States in 1944. She was an educator and civil rights activist, and most notably worked for the National Association for the Advancement of Colored People. She was preceded in death by husbands Artist V. German, Sr. and Clarence Alvert Laws. She is survived by a sister, Ethlyn McDowell , her three children, Dawn Callaway (Jerry, deceased), Artist V. German, Jr. (Audrey), and Jann Laws Jackson (Craig) all of Dallas, her Grandchildren Adia Simone and Averil Nicole German, Ashley Frances Jackson, and the “apple of her eye” Corey Alexander Moss. She also leaves to celebrate her life a host of special nieces, nephews, friends, adopted family, and those who lovingly called her “Granny”.
