Ann Loy Peterman Jensen-Wilson's Obituary
Jensen-Wilson, Ann Loy Peterman, was born October 17, 1934 in Tyler, Texas. She died January 2, 2011 after valiantly fighting Alzheimer’s Disease. She traced her roots to the early settlers of Dallas’ La Reunion Colony and the Williams family farm in Garland, Texas. After graduating from Woodrow Wilson High School in Dallas she earned degrees from both TWU and the University of North Texas. Ann taught English at South Garland High School and spent time as an Administrator for the Garland ISD while teaching part-time at SMU. She returned to her beloved classroom for her final years in Highland Park High School’s English Department. During retirement she enjoyed happy years traveling and living in the dream home designed and built with her husband Woody in Hot Springs Village, Arkansas. Her many interests included travel, gardening, reading, writing, all sorts of games, cooking, and bridge. She returned to Dallas in 2007. Mom, you were a fireball; it’s too bad you’re not here to edit this. We love and miss you and look forward to meeting you at the Pearly Gates one day, with a fork in your hand, ready with a bite of your latest home-cooked delicacy. Survivors include her children Jerry Jensen, Jr. (wife Heidi and sons Rommel and Ryan), Gina Paschal (husband Scott and children Ben, Sam and Claire), Chris Jensen (sons Liam, Oren and Myles), big sis Christine Kallstrom, several nieces and nephews and their children, husband Woodrow Wilson, his children and grandchildren, and former husband Gerald Jensen. Special thanks to the devoted staffs of Walnut Place and The Hospice Center. Funeral service will be Saturday, January 8, 12:30pm at Restland, Wildwood Chapel, 13005 Greenville Ave., Dallas. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Dallas Alzheimer’s Association or the YMCA of the Rockies, attn: Courtney Hill, 2515 Tunnel Road, Estes Park, CO 80511.
