Anna V. Casey's Obituary
Anna Yolanda Villasana was born on January 17, 1961 in Dallas, TX to mother Jeurida Jo Fairless Villasana and father Rudolph King Villasana Jr. Anna died at the age of 61 on December 8, 2022 at home in Dallas, TX with her mother and her sister.
Anna grew up in Dallas and attended Obadiah Knight Elementary School, Thomas J Rusk Middle School, and graduated from Thomas Jefferson High School in May of 1979. Anna moved to Lubbock to attend college and graduated from Texas Tech University in 1985 with a Bachelor of Arts degree. While attending Texas Tech, Anna met and fell in love with her devoted husband of 36 years, Todd Reuel Casey. After their graduation and wedding, Anna and Todd settled in Dallas and Anna discovered her professional calling to work as a political consultant for issues effecting Dallas and for candidates seeking election in the city and county of Dallas, as well as statewide office in Texas.
Anna’s career in politics spanned more than 25 years and she left her mark on Dallas, Texas politics. She was known for her difference-making work on several city propositions over the years, as well as for delivering campaign strategies for numerous candidates elected to the Dallas School Board and the Dallas City Council, the Dallas County Commissioners Court, as Justice of the Peace, Constable, County Treasurer, and to the Texas State House of Representatives.
Outside of politics Anna loved the Texas outdoors and liked to travel and camp with her husband, dogs, family and friends especially to Big Bend National park, and Anna was also a devoted fan of the Arts in Dallas.
Anna was preceded in death by her father, Rudolph Villasana Jr. and her husband Todd Casey. Anna is survived by her mother, Jeurida Villasana, her sister Elva V. Lewis of Dallas, TX as well as her father-in-law, Reuel G. Casey, mother-in-law Pat Smith Casey and her sister-in-law Cathy Casey of Granbury, TX.
Memorial Services to celebrate Anna’s life will be held as private events for family, invited friends and colleagues at Restland Funeral Home and Memorial Park. Contact Elva Lewis (214) 808-0779 with questions.
