Anna Jo (Jody) Hale's Obituary
Anna Jo (Jody) Hale, age 87, of Granbury, Texas, passed away on Saturday, April 8, 2023. She was born to Orange and Cassie Horton on May 17, 1935, in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. She married Robert Eugene (Gene) Hale on February 18, 1950, in Gainsville, Texas.
Anna Jo (Jody) will forever be remembered for her beautiful eyes. She was an angel living amongst us, with a voice so beautiful that it was a spiritual experience to hear her sing. She selflessly served in every position possible at church, apart from being the pastor of the church. She loved teaching, singing, mission work, and mentoring the young and the old. Although she only had three children, she raised so many more than those she gave birth to, and she loved and treated every child as if they were her very own.
Anna Jo (Jody) leaves her loved ones with unforgettable memories and many loving stories. She will be sincerely missed by her loving family, devoted friends, and all of the wonderful individuals who knew and loved her.
She was preceded in death by her parents: Orange and Cassie Horton; her husband of 64 years: Gene Hale; her brother: Horace; and her sisters: Helen, Peggy, Mary, and Margie. She is survived by her two sons: Bob (Norma) and Larry (Barbara); her daughter: Ramona (Kenneth); seven grandchildren: Kevin (Marisela), Melissa (Kris), Vanessa, Tonya, Meagan (Trey), Jessica, and Ryan (Sara); nine great-grandchildren; four great-great-grandchildren; six nieces: Margie Don, Ramona, Susie, Kathy, Dianna, and Marcia; and two nephews: Ed and Pat.
Services for Anna Jo (Jody) Hale will be held on Friday, April 14, 2023, at First Baptist Church of Granbury, located at 1851 Weatherford Hwy, Granbury, TX 76048, with visitation at 11:00AM and a service to follow at 12:00PM.
