Anna Luisa Luckenbach's Obituary
LUCKENBACH, ANNA LUISA WENZEL was born June 12, 1914 to Alwin Heinrich Wenzel and Adelina Moreno Canez in Los Angeles, California, Anna was raised in Southern California where she spent much of her life. On August 5, 1931 she married Lovine (Red) Luckenbach. Her husband Red Luckenbach had two long careers as a naval officer with the U.S. Navy and I.B.M. which meant that the couple lived in numerous locales ranging from Adak, Alaska, to Rockville, Maryland and Frankfort, Germany. After retirement, they lived for many years on a small farm in Hemet, California where they grew a renowned collection of heritage roses. While in Hemet Mrs. Luckenbach became an active President of the Local California Native Daughter organization. An avid homemaker, Anna Luckenbach was an expert seamstress and was famous for her cooking, especially her Spanish dishes. She was also an accomplished cake decorator, china painter, and became a regional manager selling cosmetics in the home. A loving and devoted mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, she is survived by her daughter Anna Rogers, but was predeceased by her sons Lovine and Alvin along with two granddaughters, Julie and Amber Rose. She is also survived by Al Luckenbach, a grandson who she and Red raised as a son. She left 11 grandchildren and several great-grandchildren as a lasting heritage. The family wishes to thank the staff at The Medallion and Grace Hospice for their loving care and attention. Visitation will be from 6:00 to 8:00 PMwith a Rosary at 7:00PM on Thursday March 1 at Restland Funeral Home with Mass Services at 1:00 Friday March 2 at St. Rita’s Catholic Church.
