Anne Marie Malemes' Obituary
Anne Marie Malemes (Anne Marie Kritselis), aged 92, passed away peacefully on April 18, 2026, in Garland, Texas. Born on October 30, 1933, in Sault Ste. Marie, Michigan, Anne lived a remarkable life filled with dedication to her family and a passion for education.
Anne pursued higher education at the University of Michigan, laying the foundation for a distinguished teaching career that spanned 35 years. Her work took her across the globe, including teaching assignments in Germany and Greece, as well as in her home state of Michigan and later in Texas. Anne’s commitment to education left an indelible mark on countless students and communities worldwide.
Family was at the heart of Anne’s life. She cherished her role as a mother to her daughter, Patricia Anne Malemes, with whom she shared a deep bond. She also held close relationships with her godson Frank Coroneos and his wife Teri Coroneos, as well as their daughter Christina and her husband Tom Schipper. Anne is also survived by her sister-in-law Dena Kritselis. Her kind heart and patient demeanor endeared her to all who knew her.
Anne was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Constantine George Malemes, her sister Harriet Coroneos, and her brother William Kritselis. Despite these losses, she remained steadfastly devoted to those she loved and found joy in spending time with family and friends.
Anne will be remembered as a family-oriented woman whose warmth and kindness touched everyone around her. Her legacy lives on through the lives she influenced both personally and professionally.
May her memory bring comfort to all who knew and loved her. A Visitation will be held on April 24, 2026, from 10:30 AM to 11:00 AM at Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Church 13555 Hillcrest Road, and the funeral will follow at 11:00 am.
