Annette M. Parker's Obituary
Annette McCleish Parker of Frisco, Texas, passed away on May 1, 2015 at the age of 84. She was born December 1, 1930 to Kathryn C. McCleish and Millard H. McCleish in Houston, Texas. Annette graduated from the University of North Texas with a degree in Elementary Education in 1952. She married James Parker in1955, and they started out their married life in Port Arthur, Texas. The Parkers lived in a variety of locations including Hammond, IN, Tuscola, IL, Hightstown, NJ and Tyler, TX, finally retiring in 1992 in Allen, TX Annette was a teacher for over 30 years, and she particularly enjoyed her job teaching kindergarten in Tyler, Texas. She was a dedicated and loving mother and grandmother to her four children and five grandchildren. Annette was an expert in cross stitching, loved cats, and never missed an opportunity to eat Mexican food, seafood and ice cream. She loved life and made many friends. She is survived by her husband of almost 60 years, James L. Parker; daughter and son-in-law, Kathy and Joe Jarboe of Lee’s Summit, MO, son, Stephen Parker of Dallas, TX daughter and son-in-law, Patty and James Schafer of Artesia, NM, son and daughter-in-law, John and Dina Parker of San Antonio, TX; grandchildren, Brandon Hill, Brandt Gentry, Phillip Parker, Emily Jarboe, Mackenzie Gentry; honorary great granddaughter, Norah Ice; sister and brother-in law, Verna and Bill Bounds, niece and husband, Barbara and Whit Ellis, nephew, Bill Bounds, Jr. She is preceded in death by her parents. The visitation for Annette will be Thursday, May 7, 2015 from 6:00 to 8:00 PM at Restland Funeral Home in Dallas. The funeral service for Annette will be at 3:00 PM on Friday, May 8, 2015 in The Wildwood Chapel at Restland Funeral Home. All are welcome to attend and celebrate Annette’s life. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Restland Funeral Home and Memorial Park, 13005 Greenville Avenue, Dallas, TX 75243. In lieu of flowers, memorials can be sent to the SPCA of Texas.
