Annie Laurie Knox's Obituary
Annie Laurie Roberts Knox of Dallas went home to Jesus on September 4, 2016. She was born in Hattiesburg, Mississippi to Forrest David and Ruby (Sharp) Roberts on November 1, 1925. She was preceded in death by her parents and brothers, Louis Jack and H. David (Doc) Roberts. A highly accomplished pianist and vocalist, she graduated from the University of Southern Mississippi with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Piano Performance, and represented her state as Miss Mississippi in the Miss America pageant. Annie Laurie is survived by her devoted husband of 65 years, DeWitt Knox, Jr., her son and daughter-in-law, DeWitt III and Mary Kaye, daughters Nancy and Laurie, grandsons DeWitt IV, Hanson, and Forrest Knox, nephews Ronnie and Forrest Roberts and niece, Angela Roberts. She will be missed by those who love her but we rejoice that she is vibrant and happy again, reunited with her family and friends in heaven. A memorial service will be held on Thursday, September 8, 2016 at 2:00 PM, at Believer’s Chapel, 6420 Churchill Way, Dallas, Texas 75230. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Restland Funeral Home and Memorial Park, 13005 Greenville Avenue, at Restland Road, Dallas, TX 75243.
