Annie Laura Murdock's Obituary
Annie Laura Murdock passed away in her sleep on September 3, 2018. She was born on December 10, 1916 in the tiny town of Chatfield, TX to Robert Hiram and Annie Belle Byers.Annie Byers and Howard Murdock were married on December 24, 1935 in West Kerens, TX. They had two children, Don born in 1941 and Martha born in 1937. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Howard and then by her son, Don in 2006.She is survived by her daughter, Martha Ann Murdock of Dallas; her granddaughter, Arden Moulin and husband Jason Jacoby; her grandson, Franklin Lamont Cronk; her granddaughter, Wendy Collier; her granddaughter, Michelle Wallace and husband Daniel; great-grandchildren, Kelsey Martin and husband Blake, Forrest Moulin and wife Leticia Moura, Emry Collier, Josie Collier, Danielle Wallace, Noelle Wallace, Gabrielle Wallace and Isaac Wallace; and her great-great-grandchildren, Berkleigh Martin and Anna Gabriella Moulin.Annie was a renowned seamstress for over 50 years in the Dallas area designing and making custom clothing for many people including such luminaries as Ann Richards. She was also very active in her church for many of those years.Annie has lived through some interesting times in her 101+ years! The year she was born, 10% of children died in their first year. 87 % of all births did not happen at a hospital; they happened at home. Most all of those homes had no plumbing, electricity or telephones. She rode to school with her two brothers on horseback. She lived under 18 presidents, and she was 3 years old when women were allowed the right to vote.Visitation for Ms. Annie Laura Murdock will be held Thursday, September 6, 2018 from 6:00PM to 8:00PM at Restland Funeral Home. Services will be at 1:00pm Friday, September 7, 2018 at Restland Abbey Chapel.In lieu of flowers, the family has requested memorials be made to the Christmas Fund for the Staff at Rambling Oaks Courtyard, 110 Barnett Street, Highland Village, TX 75077.
