Anthony "Tony" William Foglia's Obituary
Foglia, Anthony (Tony) William, passed away on January 4, 2011 after suffering a heart attack. Born March 23, 1944 in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania to Anthony Joseph and Jean Foglia. His father died when Tony was less than three months old while serving valiantly in the Army during the Normandy invasion. Additionally, he is preceded in death by his stepfathers, Hudson L. (Sonny) Hammond and Chester A. Larimer. He is survived and will be missed by his wife of 45 years, Judy Ann Foglia; daughter, Jana Kaye Foglia; grandson, Andrew (Andy) Patchen; mother, Jean S. Larimer; sister, Sharon J. Sheroan; brother, Hudson L. (Lee) Hammond and wife Denise; numerous sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law; and many nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins and friends. Tony was born in Philadelphia but after his father’s death, his mother moved back to Dallas to be closer to her family. A few years after remarrying, Jean and Sonny moved the family to Irving where Tony fondly remembered growing up, but he finished his high school years at the San Marcos Academy and has remained close friends with many of his classmates. After college, Tony returned to Irving where he met Judy. Tony and Judy were married in January 1966 and Jana was born later that year. Tony worked many years in retail for J.C. Penney and Target. He later held other occupations and was owner of several businesses through the years. Tony began a 20 year career at Texas Instruments in 1987, retiring in July 2007. Tony was a man of faith who practiced his Catholic religion on a regular basis. His example of inner strength, devotion, kindness, and generosity and love for his family and friends is the legacy he left for his family. He was always “the man in charge” and all who knew him will miss his kindness and wonderful wit. His humor could put a quick smile on your face and could always make you laugh. Services will be at held on Saturday, January 8, 2011 at 3:30 pm at Restland’s Memorial Chapel, 13005 Greenville Avenue in Dallas, TX. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in his memory to the American Heart Association.
