Tonie & Stanley were our adopted “parents” when we started at the Preston Road Center for Christian Education back in 1987! Boy, were we ever blessed to have them! Tonie was such a loving person, always checking on us and asking how we were doing. I (Julie) even attended some evening classes with Tonie at the Center – Tonie loved to learn about the Bible! We stayed in touch over the years and she “met” the kids we eventually had through letters and photos. Eventually our son Josh went to college and worked in Dallas and we reconnected in person with the Scotts, now at Edgemere. Almost every time we went to Dallas to see Josh we visited them. Once, after Stanley had passed, we took Tonie out to Souper Salads and she had a ball. 18 mos ago Josh got married and moved to Japan & we no longer got to see Tonie. I wrote her a Christmas card this year explaining why we never get to Dallas anymore, but alas my card was returned and I learned she had passed. ?? Every time she wrote or met with us, Tonie would mention that she always prayed for all of us. Our kids LOVED Tonie and were sad to hear the news of her passing, though we rejoice that she is in Heaven now with our Jesus, whom she loved so much. The world isn’t the same without you in it, Tonie. You were a special, special person and a great example of godliness to all of us.
