Antonio "Tony" Palaganas' Obituary
Palaganas, Antonio, “Tony” was born Sept. 1, 1938 in Dagupan City, Phillippines and passed away peacefully on May 27, 2011 in Galveston, TX. Preceded in death by his mother and father, Pacita and Fausto Palaganas; and his first wife of 37 years, Miriam. He is survived by his second wife of 6 years, Esther; children: Rafael Palaganas and wife Michelle, Grace Codina and husband Elmer, and Toni Lynn Boykin and husband Chris; grandchildren: Lauren, Jacqueline and Marco Palaganas, Zachary and Cade Codina, and Chase Boykin; brothers Mercury, Leonard, Fausto, Jr., Pio Palaganas, and sister Fe Tipay. His three loves in life were church, family and friends, and fishing. Tony was a Mason, lay leader in NAFAUM Church Conference, 1st Executive Director of the Greater Dallas Asian American Chamber of Commerce and a Suma Cum Laude graduate of U.P. Law School. Most of all he was a friend to all who crossed paths with him. Service: 9:30 a.m. Saturday, June 4, 2011 at Restland Memorial Chapel. Interment to follow at Restland Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to FFAUMC Houston, TX or Faith UMC Richardson, TX.
