Archie L. Milby's Obituary
Archie L. Milby was born on June 15, 1926 in Black Jack, Texas and passed away, February 7, 2015 in Garland Texas. He is preceded in death by his parents, 6 brothers and sisters, and granddaughter. Survived by his wife of 68 years, Vernie, Laverne Milby; his son, Archie Michael Milby; his daughter, Pamela Maddox; 3 grandchildren; 11 great grandchildren, and 6 great-great grandchildren, and numerous nieces, nephews and friends. Mr. Milby grew up as a cotton farmer, and left home to serve in United States Navy during WWII. He met and married the one and only love of his life. Together they raised 2 children and later retired from Sherwin Williams Paint Company. Mr. Milby was a devout Christian, a Member of the Masonic Lodge, and a supportive and trustworthy friend. He was a man of principal, and consistently, without wavering, put the needs of others before his own. He was the heart of his family and a blessing to all who met him. He will be missed more than words can express. Archie’s family will receive friends from 6:00-8:00 PM on Tuesday, February 10, 2015 at Restland Funeral Home. Funeral Service for Archie will take place at 3:00 PM on Wednesday, February 11, 2015 at The Wildwood Chapel at Restland Funeral Home.
