Hello. I'm Robert Sheffield, Jr. First of all I give Honor and Praise to God. To the family I would like to say Mr. Washington my ( step-father ) at one time. Would always welcome me into his home. During my time in the Navy he would pick me up and return me to DFW Airport when home on leave. I would stay at his home for a day or so coming and going. What I remember most after getting off the airplane was a warm smile and with a firm handshake him saying ROBERT!!! I knew I was back in Texas then! Even after the Navy he was always willing to give an ear or a word of advice if and when needed. Once I needed a nice size loan and he trusted and allowed me to repay it on a monthly bases. WITHOUT INSTREST!!! It' funny I paid him back for so long that I kept paying even when the loan was paid back. He gave the over payment back to me said no matter who you pay always write it down. Family or not!! ( with his signature chuckle ) So take rest; in my eyes he was a fair and upstanding man. Robert Sheffield, Jr.

Hi, I'm Althea Parker, Wynnie to the family and I would like to share one of many stories that I have of my Uncle Archie. I was faced with a dilemma about 5 months before my wedding. My father (Roosevelt Harris) was suppose to give me away but unfortunately, he passed away. I had five brothers at the time and I didn't know which one to ask to give me away without hurting the others. Well, I decided to ask Uncle Archie but I was afraid of what he might say because with him……whatever came up….. came out. Well at first he said "my name is Less and I ain't in that mess". He then smiled and without hesitation said he would be honored. So, thank you Uncle Archie again for coming through for me. I love you so, so much and I (we) will miss you tremendously. ….your niece, Wynnie.
