Arnold Prill's Obituary
Arnold Prill was born in New York City on June 27. 1941. And left this world on February 2, 2019. He attended Stuyvesant High School in New York City, MIT and Lehigh University where he earned a PhD. in Metallurgy. His career centered on alloy development, for which he earned a degree for several patents, followed by many years of protective coating development for use in gas turbine engines, and in repair of high value turbine engine component parts. He held several executive-level positions before retirement. From that time he performed volunteer work. The service and burial will commence at 12:30 PM at the Wildwood Chapel at Restland Cemetery at 13005 Greenville Avenue, Dallas, TX 75243. In lieu of flowers, please donate to the American Lung Association and Animal Angels.Arnold’s parents immigrated to New York in 1930. Both Arnold and his older brother were born in New York. It was Arnold’s intention to remain in the Northeast for life. However, in 1970, his employer asked that he accept a temporary position in Oklahoma City. He worked there for twelve years and was promoted several times before re-locating to Dallas during 1982. He loved life in Dallas through the rest of his life.Arnold met Nancy, an American Airlines Flight Attendant and love of his life, in 1984. The courtship was complicated by a transfer to London in 1985 through 1987. He worked throughout Europe and the Middle East. They were married in 1988 and enjoyed a wonderful thirty-year marriage filled with travel and adventure.He is survived by his wife, Nancy, and his brother, Stanley. He is also survived by his daughter, Marcia, of Severna Park MD, a neo-natal intensive care nurse and by Marcia’s children, Danielle, Olivia and Ryan. Finally, he is survived by his step-daughter, Traca, a banker who resides in McKinney, her husband Lorenzo, and Traca’s two children, Zach and Ethan.Those who knew him well always spoke of him as humorous, friendly, kind and caring.In lieu of flowers, please donate to the American Lung Association or Animal Angels.Funeral service will be held on February 5, 2019 at Restland Memorial Park’s Wildwood Chapel at 12:30 PM.
