Arris Bryan Whitehead's Obituary
WHITEHEAD, ARRIS BRYAN born May 10,1928 in Winston Co, Ms to Talmage and Erma Whitehead went to be with his Lord and Savior on September 24, 2012. Arris was a member of Ridgewood Park UMC. If it was broke he could fix it. In the days before cell phones he was an angel to every stranded motorist. In Lamesa, Arris was a volunteer fire fighter and an active member of Kiwanis Club and a member of the Lamesa Masonic Lodge. Married over 64 years to the love of his life Pat. Father of three loving children. He was a master mechanic sought after by every car dealer in Dallas and Lamesa. In his later years Arris taught general mechanical repair to young students at Stephen F Austin Middle School in Irving where he was honored as Teacher of the year. He was very proud of his years as a teacher. He suffered from pain for 17 years after a major stroke. Today he is pain free and he is resting in the arms of our Lord. Past Master A.C. Garrett Masonic Lodge and affiliated Past Master Dallas Lodge. Past Patron of DalCliff Eastern Star Chapter. He is survived by his wife Pat: three children, Danny, Judy and Tony. 5 grandchildren, 10 great- grandchildren and friends, too numerous to name. Visitation will be at Restland Funeral Home Dallas, Texas from 6:00 to 8:00 PM September 27, 2012 . Service will be at Ridgewood Park UMC at 10:00 AM September 28, 2012. Gravside service will be held at Baker Cemetery, Kemp, Texas September 28, 2012 at 2:00PM.
