Arthur William Ficken's Obituary
Arthur W. FickenBorn in Rockwell, Iowa, February 20, 1922, “Bob” Ficken passed away Feb. 7, 2019. He was awarded the Distinguished Flying Cross during World War II for flying transport aircraft over the Himalayan Mountains. He served in civic and fraternal organizations, and enjoyed restoring Model T’s and Model A’s. He made Hickory wheel spokes for other enthusiasts throughout the country. He was a devoted husband and father. He was preceded in death by his wife, Dorothy Joe, and son, William Curtis. He is survived by a daughter Elizabeth Sandberg and husband Doug, 4 grandchildren, Rebecca Sandberg, Rob Ficken and wife Laura, Jennifer Sandberg, Andrea Ficken, and several beloved nieces and nephews. Services will be held at Restland Wildwood Chapel at 10:00 a.m., Wednesday, February 13th.
