What a father. So many things he taught me from baiting a hook to working around the house. Memories of paddling our boat when the motor wouldn’t start, not catching fish and frying the shrimp bait for supper. Laughing later after he nearly shot me in the foot on a dove hunt. My brother and I taking him on his first ( and only) deer hunt where he shot a nice buck with one shot. He would later say; “one shot, one deer, how hard can it be.”
I would watch him be kind and compassionate when helping with Lions Club projects. He had a very soft heart for those he saw as disadvantaged.
In high school and college working with him managing real estate houses and apartments and finding out what kind of work I didn’t want to do for a living. I’ll miss most being able to ask about something I needed to repair or build and having him help.
I’ll miss him greatly.
