Arthur L. Gaut's Obituary
Mr. Arthur L. Gaut was born October 15, 1946 in Marshall,
Texas to the late Carrie Gaut Richardson. He graduated from HB Pemberton High School in 1964. After graduation, Arthur enlisted in the United States Army. He served in the United
States Army from June 4, 1964 to June 3, 1967 as a helicopter mechanic. During this period, he received multiple awards for outstanding service and achievement. After his military career, he went on to work for Texas Instruments, where he retired after 35 years.
After enjoying retirement for two years, Arthur took a job at Park Place Motor Cars as a driver. He quickly became a customer favorite and company star, winning employee awards his first year, with a total of 4 employee awards during his tenure.
He will be remembered as a devoted husband, caring family man and neighborhood patriarch. Arthur was known to give sage advice and was a political and news junkie. He enjoyed fishing, great food and movies.
Arthur's home church is New Mount Zion Baptist Church, where his wife Jewel is a faithful member.
He is preceded in death by his mother, Carrie L. Gaut, Father, George Richardson, Sister Carrie Jeanette Daniels and Brother George Richardson Jr.
He leaves to cherish is memory, his wife of 52 years, Jewel Gaut. Sons, Tony (Cherie), Kelvin (Nichole) and Jason (Venitra).
Sisters Eleanor B. Morris and Wanda Davis. 8 Grandsons, 6 Granddaughters, 5 great granddaughters, 3 great grandsons, and a host of extended family and friends.
