Arthur Frank Paulsen's Obituary
Arthur Frank Paulsen, age 86, passed away at his home on April 18, 2018 surrounded by his wife, Diane, and family. Art was born on December 3, 1931 in Brooklyn Queens, New York to Frank Bertram and Louise Fey Paulsen. Art married B. Diane Zinn Ewing on September 13, 1997 in Frisco, Texas.Art is survived by six children: David (Dixie) Paulsen, Holiday, Florida; Christine (Robert) Reagan, Ft Worth, Texas; Bruce (Judy) Paulsen from the state of Texas; Steven Paulsen, Ft Worth, Texas; John (Karla) Paulsen, Azle, Texas and Peter (Staci) Paulsen, Keller, Texas. He is also survived by three step children: Tracie Frink and Jimmie Hardin, Grand Prairie, Texas; Tony (Connie) Ewing, Frisco, Texas and Trevor (Kristi) Ewing, Prosper, Texas.Grandchildren: Jonathan, Michael, Ryan, Caitlin, Stefani, Sam, Chris, Amanda, Jakob, Grant, Brady and Mitchell.Step Grandchildren: Stephen, Brandon, Jonathan, Heather, Sean, Tanner, Maddie, Jake, Hunter, Ashton and Tatum.Great Grandchildren: Avery, Ivana, Noah, Ella, Michael, Kaitlyn, Andrew, Nathan, Hannah, Hailey and Peyton.He was preceded in death by his parents and a great grandson.Art pursued his higher education at Cornell University. His education was interrupted when he enlisted in the Air Force. Art served in Korea during the Korean War. Being a life long learner, Art earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Business from North Texas University at age 53.He was an avid sportsman. He was drafted by the New York Yankees Farm Team and he played on the Black Diamonds semi-pro basketball team at one time playing against the Harlem Globetrotters. At age 73, he took up Roller Hockey and his team won the league championship. He and son, Peter, won the Father/Son Tennis Championship of Texas two times. He was an avid tennis player until age 76. He loved racquetball.Visitation will be from 11 am to 12 noon, Saturday, April 21, 2018 at Restland Funeral Home in Dallas. Services will follow visitation at 12 noon at Restland. Interment will follow the service at Restland Cemetery.The family requests no flowers. Memorial may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association.
