Arthur "Rick" Fredrick Price's Obituary
Arthur "Rick" Fredrick Price, a beloved husband, father, grandfather, and friend, passed away on November 11, 2024, at the age of 78. Rick’s life was one marked by service to his country, building a successful business, and a deep love for his family and friends.
Born on February 9, 1946, in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, to Arthur Jackson Price and Dorothy Abston Price, Rick grew up with a strong work ethic and a sense of loyalty that guided him throughout his life. As a young man, he proudly served in the United States Navy, where he was able to travel the world and a gain a sense of discipline that would carry over into his civilian life.
In 1980, Rick’s ambition and keen business sense led him to open Price Auto Sales, a venture he solely owned and operated for over 40 years. Driven by a passion for success and a talent for spotting opportunities, Rick built a thriving business that not only supported his family but also created jobs and provided others with the opportunity to build their own careers. His ability to create value and recognize potential made Price Auto Sales a key player in the South Dallas auto community, reflecting his unwavering dedication and hard work.
Rick’s true joy, however, was found in his family. He shared 52 years of life with his wife, Pam, marked by moments of love, partnership, and the ups and downs that come with a lasting marriage. Together, they raised two daughters, Shannon Price Cheek and Allison Warren Price, both of whom he cherished deeply. Rick’s pride and joy were his grandchildren: Addison Cheek, John Cheek, Sydney Warren, Arthur Warren, Mills Warren, and Rose Warren. He could often be found surrounded by them, showering them with love and spoiling them with all the things grandfathers do best.
Beyond his family, Rick had a passion for life that was contagious. He loved throwing parties, gathering his friends and loved ones together to celebrate life with music, laughter, and the joy of good company. One of his greatest passions was Elvis Presley, and Rick’s love for the King of Rock 'n' Roll was known to anyone who spent time with him.
Rick was preceded in death by his father, Arthur Jackson Price, and his mother, Dorothy Abston Price. He is survived by his wife, Pamela; daughters, Shannon (Carter) Cheek and Allison Warren Price; grandchildren, Addison Cheek, John Cheek, Sydney Warren, Arthur Warren, David Warren, and Rose Warren; and his siblings, David (Jean) Price, Claudia Johnson, Doug Price, and Mike (Theresa) Price. He also leaves behind many nieces, nephews, and friends who will miss his generous spirit and unwavering love for life.
Rick’s legacy will live on in the hearts of all who knew him—through the lessons he taught, the laughter he brought, and the love he shared. He was a man who lived life to the fullest, and his presence will be deeply missed by all who were lucky enough to know him.
A celebration of Rick’s life will be held November 18, 2024, at Restland in Dallas, Texas. The family requests that, in lieu of flowers, donations be made in Rick’s memory to the Wounded Warrior Project.
May Rick rest in peace, forever surrounded by the music of Elvis and the love of his family.
