He's in our hearts.
It is so sad that Arty is gone. When visiting my sister, Doris, he was always a gracious host. He took us on many an adventure, like when he skippered his sailboat (with us as crew) in the Caribbean or when we flew back from California and THROUGH the Grand Canyon. My thoughts are with all who miss him.
The Misa Family purchased the Peaceful White Lilies Basket for the family of Arty Boyd Smith.
I appreciate the call to give me the sad news. He was a good friend, brought on by the joint friendship with Steve and Margaret Karnavas. Arty, Steve, and I shared many a lunch, which was filled more with talking than eating. Arty was one of the most interesting persons I've had the pleasure of knowing. He stayed busy "doing things" instead of retiring to an easy chair. He was my hero in his skills and interests. You forgot to mention that his being a "pilot" included both airplanes and sailplanes. I thought I had a lot of hobbies! What a great guy and a great friend. With an inrush of out-of-town company, it is unlikely I will be able to make the services, but be assured, I'll be there in spirit for my friend. Love to all, and condolences, Ed Millis
