Ashton Rhett Pigulski's Obituary
Our sweet beautiful boy, Ashton Rhett Pigulski, entered the gates of heaven on September 1, 2022. He was born to Mr. Glen Bruce Pigulski and Mrs. Tonya Beth Jones on Monday, March 29, 2004 in Corpus Christi, Texas. He is survived by his parents and step-father, Christopher Scott Jones, and his siblings, Charity Lynn Pigulski, Alexander Luke Pigulski, Chelsea Violet Pigulski, and Bailey DeAnne Morgan, and by his grandparents, Mary Lynn Dodson, Tony and Charlotte Hoppe, and Bruce and Rose Pigulski. His aunts and uncles, Gary and Michelle Graham, John and Elise Dodson, Jacob and Jamie Dodson, LeAnn Pigulski, Anthony Hoppe and Allie Hoppe all loved him dearly. He had many cousins: Mathew Graham, Mason Graham, Gabriella Burnett, Gracelyynn Graham, Maverick Graham, Ella Dodson, Jonathan Dodson, Adeline Dodson, Fisher Dodson, and Juliet Dodson. The entire family will forever feel his loss.
Ashton was drawn to the water at an early age. He competed in many swim competitions during his years on the Keller High School swim team. Ashton’s sailing talents made him a highly sought-after first mate by senior sailors. Ashton’s sailing accolades are too numerous to list. He started in Corpus Christi. Texas green fleets and was soon competing in red, white, and blue fleets through Laser Standard in the Texas Sailing Association (TSA). He received first place overall standard rig in 2019 and placed second overall in 2021. Throughout the years, he volunteered at the Grapevine Sailing Club for summer camps and eventually began coaching young boys who shared his sailing passion. When he wasn’t in Texas, he was sailing in the Virgin Islands with his dad and grandpa and parasailing over the Hawaiian oceans with his cousins.
Ashton was a friend to all and never met a stranger with whom he couldn’t have a heart-felt conversation. He was a loyal and supportive son and brother, treasured grandson, and loved cousin, giving of himself without being asked. He never took himself too seriously--had a quiet sense of humor-- and always made everyone smile. Ashton made those around him at ease and had a gift of listening to others with his whole heart.
King David's thoughts upon the loss of his son comfort us: Like the Old Testament king, we know that Ashton is loved perfectly and forever by a good God. As David reflected: "“But now that he is dead, why should I fast? Can I bring him back again?...I will go to him, but he will not return to me.” We will, one day, indeed, see Ashton again sailing across the bluest and most beautiful of waters,
