Atwood William Moody's Obituary
Atwood William Moody, of Mesquite, Texas, went home to be with the Lord Friday, October 16, 2009. He was born January 26, 1935 in Jefferson, Maine, the son of Ashby A. Moody and Madeline Flagg Moody. Atwood was preceeded in death by his parents and sister, Mary Haskell Moody. Atwood was a veteran of the Marine Corp, and a devoted husband, father and grandfather. He was a member of Calvary Hill Baptist Church in Mesquite, Texas and served as a deacon there for many years. He retired from Minyards Food Stores and also worked previously for Kroger Foods and Safeway. He is survived by his wife, Peggy Mizell Moody, of Mesquite, Texas, son Jeff Moody, and his wife Michelle, of Farmington, New Mexico, daughter Debbie O’Neal, and her husband Doni, of Nevada, Texas, daughter Susan Daniel, and her husband Danny, of Red Oak, Texas, daughter Penny Smith, and her husband Mike, of Mesquite, Texas, two brothers, Herbert Moody, and his wife Teresa, of Jefferson, Maine, and James Moody, and his wife Vickie, of Jefferson, Maine. He is further survived by twelve grandchildren–Kyle Daniel of Ft. Hood, Texas, Gregg Daniel of Red Oak, Texas, Chad Daniel of Red Oak, Texas, Blaine Smith of Mesquite, Texas, Josiah Moody of Farmington, New Mexico, Channon Daniel of Red Oak, Texas, Sarah Moody of Farmington, New Mexico, Beau Smith of Mesquite, Texas, Jonathan Moody of Farmington, New Mexico, Samuel Moody of Farmington, New Mexico, Lauren O’Neal of Nevada, Texas, and Seth O’Neal of Nevada, Texas, as well as many nephews, neices, cousins and friends. Visitation will be held Monday, October 19, 2009 from 6:00-8:00 p.m. at Restland Funeral Home, 13005 Greenville Ave., Dallas, Texas. A funeral service will be held Tuesday, October 20, 2009, 11:00 a.m., at Calvary Hill Baptist Church, 3300 La Prada, Mesquite, Texas. Interment will be at Restland Cemetery following the funeral service. In lieu of flower, donations can be made to the Building Fund or Benevolence Fund at Calvary Hill Baptist Church, Mesquite, Texas.
