Aubery Lee Reese Jr.'s Obituary
Jay Reese completed his earthly life on May 10, 2018 with dignity, courage, and peace. He will be greatly missed by family and lifelong friends. Our good news is that we know he now starts his eternal life with his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.Jay Reese was born October 1, 1936 to Aubrey Lee and Elna Pearl Reese. He grew up in Dallas and was a proud graduate of Adamson High School, Class of 1954. He continued his studies at SMU and received a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering. On June 27, 1958, he married his high school sweet heart, Mary Ann, and they shared 55 years together. He was a devoted father to Kathleen and Leesa. Jay had a successful career at TI, Collins Radio, Johnson Control, Sci-Com, McDonald Associates, and until his death as an Independent Manufacturer Sales Representative of Electronic Systems. His favorite project during his career was his work on Scope Control 2 where he was the project manager for the communication systems of Air Force 1 that now is in the Reagan Presidential Museum. His career took him to Saudi Arabia, Iran, Denmark, France, Vietnam and many other countries. Jay joined Alcoholics Anonymous on November 9, 1978 and was forever grateful that AA saved his family and his life. Jay married Marvel on October 1, 2014 and gained a second family. Marvel and Jay were active in starting the Twelve Step Alcoholism/Addiction Ministry at First United Methodist Church Richardson. Jay loved and was proud of his lifelong church home, FUMR. Gracie, Jay’s beloved Australian Shepherd, participated in Agility Competitions and Pet Partners. Jay’s passions included his family, Gracie, horseracing, bridge, music, and traveling.Jay was preceded in death by his wife Mary Ann. He leaves behind his wife, Marvel, of 4 years. He also leaves behind his daughter, Leesa Henderson, and daughter and son and law, Mark and Kathleen Denny. His grandchildren Sarah and Sam Robinson, Megan and Michael Solis, Laura Denny, Shane Henderson and Aubrey Davis-Loosli. His Great Grandchildren Reese and Max Robinson, and Sofia Solis. His sister and brother in law, Suzanne and Paul Davis and his brother Ronald Reese. Marvel’s children Kiley Vaught, Tracey Vaught, Jamie and Michael Chiocca, Christopher and Taralea Link, Drs Brian and Ellen Link. Grandchildren Savanah and Casey Fortune, Bella and Sofia Chiocca, Alis and Ryan Gilleran, Daniel and Brandon Wilkenson, Mae Link, and Allison and Austin Link. He also leaves behind his beloved extended family and friends.Jay’s Celebration Service will be May 14, 2018 at First United Methodist Richardson at 4 PM.
