Bernie Mayoff
My memories of Aubrey are always about a thoughtful, intellectual gentle man. We didn't know each other well, and didn't see each other often - usually at something our wives arranged. New Years Eve parties are memories. A Neil Diamond concert where we sat too close (our wives would say it was where we had great seats). Aubrey and i left that concert not being able to hear for some time the rest of that night, but Kay and Denise were overjoyed. Aubrey was my campaign treasurer when I ran for office in Richardson. And for reasons that I can't understand, he liked opera, but it did reinforce his stature as an intellect. He's also the only person I know who has walked through the sewers underneath the City of Dallas. Opera, Neil Diamond, sewers, building roads and bridges, politics, flying. running, and family. For a thin man he sure had a well-rounded life.
