Audrey Gundy's Obituary
Gundy, Audrey E. Beloved wife, mother and friend, passed away on January 11, 2016 in Dallas, Texas. She was born in St. Louis, Missouri to Albert and Helen Erdsiek on September 12, 1921. Audrey grew up living over her parents’ drugstore in St. Louis. When Audrey was 14, her father moved his drugstore and the family to the small town of Troy, Missouri. Following her graduation from high school, she attended William Woods College in Fulton, Missouri. Audrey went on to earn Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees in Home Economics and Nutrition at the University of Missouri in Columbia. She served a Dietetic Internship at Indiana University Medical Hospital and was employed as a Dietitian at Barnes Hospital in St. Louis, Missouri, Children’s Medical Center in Dallas, and Memorial Hospital in Garland, Texas. Audrey married Lawrence Gundy on August 17, 1947 in Troy, Missouri. They soon began a family and moved to Texas. Audrey and Larry raised their three daughters in Garland, Texas. Audrey is preceded in death by her husband of sixty years, Larry. She is survived by her daughters and son-in-law Teresa and Davis Chauviere, Deborah Gundy, Nancy and Chuck Davidson; grandchildren Renee Carver and her husband Jason, Ted Chauviere, Cloe Chauviere, Li Granito and her husband Monty, Melissa Raney, Han Davidson; great-grandchildren Sophia, Sebastian, Oliver, Max and Lydia Carver. Funeral services will be held at 3 PM Saturday, January 16, 2016 at Wildwood Chapel, Restland Funeral Home, 13005 Greenville Avenue, Dallas, Texas 75243. In lieu of the usual remembrances, the family request that donations be made to Juliette Fowler Homes, Inc. at 1234 Abrams Road, Dallas, Texas 75214.
