Audrey Jane Manley's Obituary
Audrey Jane Manley born October 5, 1927 in St. Louis, Missouri passed away April 6, 2016 in Dallas, Texas. Surrounded by her family, our beloved Audrey Jane Heuermann Manley went home to be with the Lord on Wednesday, March 6, 2016. Audrey was born on October 5, 1927 to Arthur Henry Heuermann and Hedwig Dorthea Wolf Heuermann in Saint Louis, Missouri. She graduated with her Bachelors in Science from Washington University in Saint Louis. After graduation, she moved to Dallas, Texas where she worked for Burroughs Corporation in the fiancé department. She married James Kinneman Manley on September 14, 1949 and would be celebrating their 67 years of marriage this year. Audrey became a Christian on February 3, 1969 and was the catalyst for bringing the rest of her family to the Lord. An active and long standing member of Northwest Bible Church in Dallas, Audrey served as a Sunday School Teacher, Treasurer of the Berean class and Women’s Bible Study Leader. She opened her home to host missionary families and weekly Bible Study Groups. Talented, intelligent, fun-loving and bright, Audrey never knew a stranger. She connected easily with others and showed great empathy and compassion to so many. While her children were growing up, Audrey always welcomed their friends and neighbors into their home. It became a center of fun and laughter and many wonderful memories were made there. Audrey was also a master quilter and hand stitched beautiful quilts for her family. Audrey enjoyed needlepoint and knitting as well. We will truly miss our Audrey. She was a wonderful wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister, friend, prayer partner and confidante. The legacy she left behind was tremendous and our world is such a better place because of her life. We await the day when after this life we are with her again. We will love and miss her forever. Audrey is preceded in death by her parents Arthur Henry Heuermann and Hedwig Dorthea Wolf Heuermann, and her sister Lorraine Reed. Audrey is survived by her husband James K. Manley, her son James Michael Manley and his wife Cynthia Kay Manley; her daughter Susan Jane Manley Fawcett Campion and her husband Joseph William Campion; as well as her 9 grandchildren, Matthew James Leaverton and his fiance Charley LeAnna Bayes, Loren Adair Silas and her husband Michael Andrew Silas, Clay Michael Leaverton and his wife Julia Lenora Iniguez, Jeffrey Parker Campion, Bryce Joseph Campion, Christine Marie Manley, James Michael Manley Jr. and his wife Jami Michelle Manley, Patricia Ann Manley and her fiancé David Wayne Hooper and Robert Edward Manley. Audrey is also survived by 13 great grandchildren: Morgan Carroll, Devon Carroll, Dylan Leaverton, Jessie Leaverton, Charlie Bayes, Luke Leaverton, Presley Iniquez-Leaverton, Landry Silas, Wyatt Rather, Mason Manley, Mallie Manley, London Hooper and Jackson Hooper. She is also survived by her niece Barbara Reed; her nephews Jim Reed and Tom Reed and numerous good friends. The service for Audrey Manley will be held at 11:00 AM, Sunday, April 10, 2016 in The Wildwood Chapel at Restland Funeral Home. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Restland Funeral Home and Memorial Park, 13005 Greenville Avenue, Dallas, TX 75243. In lieu o flowers memorial may be made to Children’s Medical Center of Dallas.
