Audrey R. Draeger's Obituary
Born in Gilby, North Dakota on August 29, 1931 and lived in the Richardson, Texas area for the last 42 years. She was preceded in death by her parents, 5 brothers, 2 sisters and her husband of 52 years at the time of his death. She worked at Blue Cross Blue Shield for 20 years, upon retirement she became an avid bowler on a number of Senior leagues. She loved to travel and was fortunate to have seen many different countries; however the most treasured trips were to Alaska with her husband. Audrey is survived by sisters Donna Arneburg and Jean Coverston; daughters, Karen Draeger and JoAnne Mahl, son, Duane Draeger and his wife Phuong. Audrey’s also survived by 5 grandchildren, Kortenay Shaw, Jason Mahl and wife Angie, Jennifer Cleveland and husband Ben, Derrick and Alison Draeger; and 5 great-grandchildren Madison and Kennedy Mahl and Aedin, Caleb and Michael Shaw. Family members will receive friends from 5-7 PM Monday, March 7, 2016 at Restland Funeral Home; Funeral Services will be held March 8, 2016 at 9:00 AM at Turning Point Church at 1020 E. Pleasant Run Rd. Ste 100, DeSoto, Texas 75115; will then proceed to the Dallas-Ft. Worth National Cemetery, 2000 Mountain Creek Pkwy, Dallas, Texas 75211 at 11:00 AM; were she will be buried next to her husband. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Restland Funeral Home and Memorial Park, 13005 Greenville Avenue, Dallas, TX 75243. In lieu of flowers and plants, please make a donation in memory of Audrey R. Draeger to either the Wounded Warrior Project or American Cancer Society or the Greater Dallas Chapter/Alzheimer’s Association @ alz.org/greaterdallas.
