Audrey Joan Skinner's Obituary
73, passed away after a short illness on December 11, 2008. She was surrounded by her family whom she loved deeply, and who will miss her very much. She was born and raised in Erie, PA, then lived in Philadelphia where she and her husband raised their five children before relocating to Dallas in 1980. She had a wonderful sense of humor and enjoyed reading, gardening, cooking, fly fishing, traveling, and spending time with her family. She was also an avid fan of the Philadelphia Phillies and Eagles. Audrey previously worked at the Boswell House Restaurant and Girard Bank in Philadelphia, and BlueCross BlueShield of Texas. She is survived by her loving husband of 55 years, Richard, as well as her beloved mother, Virginia W. Adams, and sister, Susan E. Adams, both of Erie, PA. She was preceded in death by her father, Frank M. Adams. Audrey also leaves behind four sons — Dr. Dirk E. Skinner and wife Marianne, Vineland, NJ; Darrell W. Skinner, Irving, TX; Damon B. Skinner, New York, NY; Drew B. Skinner and wife Wessam, Drexel Hill, PA — and one daughter, Deborah S. MacDougall, Indianapolis, IN. She was a loving grandmother to Chad, Laura, Brett, Kelly, Brian, Allison, and Christopher Skinner, and Sarah MacDougall. In addition, she is survived by her aunt, Maudie White, uncles, Louis and Andrew Adamczyk, and many cousins, including Claudia Valentine and Sally Rudd. A memorial service will be held at 11AM on Monday December 15, 2008 at Restland Abbey Chapel. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to: The Make a Wish Foundation, United Service Organization (USO), Doctors without Borders, or the Salvation Army. A separate memorial service will be held in Erie, PA in the spring, at a time and place yet to be determined.
