ASHER, AUGUST C. was born December 19, 1919 in Happy, Texas and passed away February 21, 2014 in Mesquite, Texas. Preceded in death by his wife, Dannie Fay Thurman Asher; daughter, Opal Nell Scott; grandson, Robert Courtney Scott; parents, Johnnie and Bettie Asher; 4 sisters and 2 brothers. August is survived by son, David Courtney Asher and wife, Leota; daughter, Elizabeth Ann Ammons; grandchildren, Stephanie Schroeder, Will Scott, Michael Travis Asher, Kimberly Lynn Swell, Christopher Lee Ammons, and Amanda Kay Ammons Aldridge; 9 great grandchildren; 3 great great grandchildren, and numerous other relatives. Services will be held at 12:00 PM, Monday, February 24, 2014 at Restland Abbey Chapel with visitation 1 hour prior to the service in the chapel.
