Avis Johnson was truly a renaissance man. He excelled in many areas, as a loving, devoted husband and father, as a leader in the business world, as an well known athlete at the University of Texas, as a teacher and lay minister, and as loyal friend to many. I have been blessed to have Avis as my cousin. He was a cousin who was a role model to me always encouraging and supporting me. After six long years of suffering, he has "graduated" to his Heavenly Home. His life exemplifies Matthew 25:23, "Well done, good and faithful servant!"
