Avon Chapman's Obituary
Chapman, Avon passed away July 11, 2013 in Dallas TX. He was born June 17, 1923 in Greenville TX to A.P. and Mary Chapman. During WWII he served in both the Naval and Army Air Force. He began his teaching career with DISD in 1950 and retired from DCCCD in 1983. Avon is survived by his wife, Margarett and one daughter, Lesa Fernandez and husband Gilbert and two grandchildren, Amanda Fernandez Esq. of Seattle WA and Jordan Fernandez a medical student at UT Houston. He is preceded in death by his parents, his identical twin brother, Dvon, two other brothers, and two sisters. He is a member of White Rock UMC and the Harmony Sunday School Class. He and his wife have lived the last 8 1/2 years at CC Young. It was here that Avon met a very dear friend, Ted Waller. Memorials may be made to CC Young Health Center in appreciation of their care. Visitation will be held from 9:30 to 11:00 AM on Saturday, July 13, 2013 at Restland Funeral Home. A memorial service will be held at a later date.
