Whiskers and Kates love was such a inspiration for a young married girl to see all these years. Whiskers treated anyone he met with such elegance and charm that you felt his love for life and adventure, always planning for the next trip or adventure with his love. I know that he will be missed but never forgotten and leaves behind a large loving family.Honor your father, husband, grandfather and friend with loving each other as he always did.Love you all,Tracy
To all who knew Ray well, I think you would agree that upon greeting Ray in heaven God probably said " Good evening Mr. Delle, I'm glad to see you could make it." That was a favorite expression of Ray's indicating one could possibility have arrived a little sooner. We are all so happy he waited as long as he could to leave us.
We truly respect and appreciated Mr. Delle more than words can express. The legacy of CIA has meant so much to so many families. He lived a long and remarkable life and while he will be truly missed, we are glad he is in a much better place, whole, healthy and happy. All our sympathy, love and support, Jimmy and Barbara Lee
It's not possible to condense into just a few words the love and respect we all felt for this gentle giant of a man. He possessed the finest virtues one could only hope to find in a husband, a father, a grandfather, a brother, an uncle and a friend. We were so happy when Ray and our Aunt Kate found each other and we gained a new extended family. He immediately embraced us all and never did it seem we had ever been without him. He loved us and treated us with such respect and affection, we were crazy about him. He was wonderful to us all but mostly we were so happy because he made our Aunt Kate so happy and took such good care of her. To those of us fortunate enough to be called family, he was a rock, the "go to" guy who would always have the time and genuine interest to encourage, console, comfort, advise and just plain spend time with you. He had the best stories to share and I think one of his greatest pleasures was just talking about his experiences and hearing about ours. There will not be a better example of the human spirit or the way to live a stellar life than Ray. He possessed a wonderful wit and sense of humor, a great sense of the right thing to do, a total committment to family and friends, a love of sharing all he had with others, and was always and ever a true gentleman in every sense of the word. He was unabashedly proud to be an American and loved this country and all it stands for. He was proud of his military service and recalled his experiences vividly, sharing them with his family and friends. In short he was our hero and his loss leaves a huge void in our lives but his presence in our lives has filled us all with an enduring spirit and love for him which will always be with us.
Dear Kate, Raye Louise & Kathy – my heart goes out to you all. I know you will find peace and comfort in the blessed knowledge that Ray is in a much better place now. And his mind & body are once again working at 110%!! I will forever treasure my short time of knowing him – as well as him always calling me a "teenager" ??
