B. LaRue Virgillo's Obituary
LaRue Virgillo, a loving and devoted mother, grandmother, wife, and friend to all whose lives she touched, went home to be with the Lord on June 24, 2021. She passed peacefully, surrounded by loved ones in the house she shared with her loving husband of six years, Allen Virgillo. She was 80.
LaRue was born the third child to Loree and Wesley Pate in Pampa, Texas, where she grew up. After graduating from high school, she followed her parents to California, though Texas never left her heart. She married John Ramaker and they had four beautiful children. Later, she married Jim Baber and they gave birth to twins. But, Texas kept calling her home. So, she packed everyone up, and they made the long trek to the state she called, “God’s Country.”
In Texas, LaRue and Jim started a mom-and-pop print shop. For over 35 years, she handled the front of the house and all the creative artwork/design while he handled the back of the house and all the printing. After Jim passed away, LaRue kept the creative side of the business going until she retired at age 78.
An incredibly intelligent woman who loved reading and doing crossword puzzles, LaRue strongly valued education and sacrificed much to send her children to a private school. Also an impressive seamstress and cook, LaRue was proudest of being a mother. She loved her children fiercely and often talked to friends, family, and random strangers about how proud she was of them.
While LaRue certainly had her share of tragedy and wonderfully beautiful moments, she sure loved Jesus and believed in His saving grace. She died knowing she would be in heaven along with those who’ve gone on before her. She hopes to see you there one day.
Services for LaRue will be held at 2:30 p.m. Friday, July 2, 2021 at Memorial Chapel in Restland Funeral Home. Burial to follow in Restland Memorial Park. A viewing and visitation will be held one hour prior to the service.
