Barbara Jeanine Roach Chastain's Obituary
Jeanine Roach Chastain, Of Carrollton, Texas, went to be with her Lord on December 2, 2023. She was born in Houston, Texas on April 27, 1941, but spent the first few years of her life in San Francisco, California. Her family eventually settled in Texas where she graduated from South Oak Cliff High School and lived the rest of her life in the Dallas area. She is preceded in death by her parents, Lloyd and Winifred Roach, her brother Lloyd Roach Jr., and her husband of 47 years, Charles Chastain. Charles and Jeanine spent many hours supporting their three sons in their sporting activities as well as enjoying water skiing, snow skiing, and traveling to various places in the United States and Europe.
Jeanine is survived by her three sons and daughters-in-law, Brian and Julie Chastain of Coppell, Texas, Jeff and Tami Chastain of Baton Rouge, Louisiana, and Christopher and Dana Chastain of Frisco, Texas. Jeanine also had 9 grandchildren: Bryce Chastain and his wife Sarah of Coppell, Texas, Anna Hamilton and her husband Preston of Hurst, Texas, Cayla Langston and her husband Chistow of Roanoke, Texas, Garrett Chastain and his wife Sydney of Coppell, Texas, Hunter Chastain of Dallas, Texas, Alison McCutcheon and her husband Cody of Midland, Texas, Zack Chastain of Dallas, Texas, Emily Chastain of Fort Worth, Texas, and Trinity Chastain of Frisco, Texas. She adored all of them and took great joy in following each in their different sporting activities, ballet performances, cheerleading competitions and different school events. Jeanine also had 8 great grandchildren at the time of her death.
Jeanine was a stay-at-home mom while she was raising her family but eventually worked various jobs once her children were older. She did volunteer work for Harris Hospice and Senior Adult Services and was very involved with Meals on Wheels, delivering meals to senior citizens for many years. Until she was diagnosed with dementia, Jeanine was a long-time active member of Christ United Methodist Church in Farmers Branch, Texas.
Jeanine will be terribly missed by her family, but we are thankful she is no longer suffering from this terrible disease and has been made whole again. She made a great impact on all who knew her and was greatly loved by many.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Alzheimer's Association and Christ United Methodist Church.
