Barbara Ann Cobern's Obituary
Born Barbara Ann Griffin January 4,1944 to John and Alene Griffin of Dallas, TX.
She grew up attending church and learning to love the Lord from a young age.
"Ann" as she was known to friends and family graduated from Richardson High School and went on to work as a secretary briefly before meeting and marrying her husband of 60 years Carroll Cobern in 1964. Together they had daughter Carol Ann in 1968.
She was a wonderful wife and mother who would drop everything to help someone in need. She volunteered at her daughters school and eventually began working in the school library at Cooper Elm in Garland.
She later took a job in the library at the newly built Spring Creek Elm in Garland and moved from library aid to office aid and eventually school Secretary. She retired after 30 years of service in the Garland School District.
Ann Passed away February 22,2025. She is survived by husband Carroll Cobern, daughter Carol Ann Lumsden, stepdaughter Janna Williams and her husband David, Sister Sue Roan, Niece Donna Bryant and her husband Sport Bryant, Grand Chldren Brittney Johnson and husband James, Christian Lumsden and wife Noel, Faith Lumsden, Alexa Williams, Kelsey Williams and Payton Williams. Great Grandchildren Aria Lumsden, Killian Lumsden and Lennox Lumsden and many other family and friends.
Private family graveside services will be held at Restland.
Donations in her name to the Alzheimer's Association would be greatly appreciated.
